HyperBolic Table

Hyperbolic Table
2011 - 2015
Highly inspired by earlier minimal surfaces that used in architecture by Frei Otto and Eduardo Fernando Catalano, Hyperbolic Table has been created by using specific perforations on its body to create more lightweight and spatial outcomes in certain interior conditions.

The whole table has been created by using one single minimal surface module to be replicated four times. The initial surface module, has been prepared for laser cut aluminium sheet, to create desired perforations on its body without actually losing its lightweight properties.

Finally, a metal rod layer as a reinforcement support has been applied to create a rigid and reliable structure to support its own weight and glass top.
