Hôtel Rêverie è un progetto fotografico ispirato al saggio diGaston Bachelard "La Poetica della Rèverie". Il termine"Rèverie" viene tradotto come sogno ad occhi aperti, fantasticheria.Per il filosofo francese la Rèverie rappresenta quel fenomeno della veglia incui l'Io fugge dal reale vagando libero da qualsiasi influenza contingente." Di quale altra libertà psicologica godiamo oltre a quella difantasticare? psicologicamente parlando, è proprio nelle rèveries che siamodegli esseri liberi" scrive l'autore. Il lavoro è stato realizzato nellestanze sconnesse e polverose di un albergo in rifacimento. I miei modelli(improbabili come gli abitanti dei sogni) sono in posa sullo sfondo di paretisgretolate e tappezzerie scollate, nel tentativo di livellare la linea diconfine tra il mondo reale e quello immaginario. I miei scatti sono un' occhioche si apre da quel confine e da quel confine si spalanca iun mondo ALTRO, nelquale originalità è al tempo stesso Bizzarria, verità primigenia, IDEAplatonica. Dove i dettagli non sono mai rivelati e l'immobilità è l'origine diogni possibile movimento.
Hôtel Rêverie is a project inspired by Gaston Bachelard’s essay ThePoetics of Reverie (1960). The French term “rêverie” and the English “reverie” are generally considered tomean “daydream” or “daydreaming”, but for the French philosopher “rêverie” is the phenomenon of wakefulnessin which the Self eludes reality and wanders off free from any contingentinfluence. “Whatpsychological freedom do we have other than the freedom to dream?Psychologically speaking, it is in reverie that we are free beings”, writes the author. Life is guidedby psychical détente, fantastical imaginings, and crazy reveries.
The work was made in the dusty, disjointed rooms of ahotel being renovated just on the edge of the centre of Florence. I put mymodels (improbable like the inhabitants of the dreams) against backgrounds ofcrumbling walls and peeling wallpaper, trying to level the line of demarcationbetween the real world and the imaginary one. My releases are an eye that opensfrom that border, and from that border a world opens wide itself on OTHER, inwitch the sublime is at same time bizzaria and truth primigenia, platonic IDEA,where the detail is never revelated, and the immobility is the origin of everypossible moviment. they are transitory visions that can be deciphered indifferent ways. The potential for interpretation is infinite, since this isinherent in the work of art and in the life of man.
