The Story of the Mouse in the Store
Once upon a time a mouse entered a store at night. He smelled all the good things that were
inside: the butter, the lard, the spicy sausage, the cheese, the bread, the chocolate, the apples,
the nuts, the fresh carrots. First he rised on his back paws and stretched his nose and whistled
in joy. But were to start? He was about to bite the butter package when from somewhere he
smelled the delicious sent of lard and from somewhere else the delicious smell of cheese! He
was about to bite the cheese when from somewhere he smelled the delicious sent of spicy
sausage and from somewhere else the delicious smell of chocolate! He was about to bite the
chocolate when from somewhere he smelled the delicious sent of cake and from somewhere
else the delicious smell of butter again! The poor mouse ran from one place to the other, not
knowing where to begin. And, suddenly, it was day and people started entering the store. They
shoo'd him away so he said to the other mice: «Never again I'll go back to that store! When you’re
about to start eating, they throw you out!».
These illustrations were made for a school project, which consisted on making 3 spreads for an illustrated children's book based on the story above. The spreads were chosen from a storyboard previously done of the whole book.
