The design is the result of three drivers: an energy efficient design, cost efficiency, and a desire to produce an inclination to encounter the elements. The home’s internal organization and external orientation aim to take advantage of seasonal sun angles and wind direction. It does not aim to blur the lines between interior or exterior, but to make one compliment the other. Cost efficiency is achieved through space efficiency and low cost-materials to compensate for more expressive design maneuvers. These design maneuvers need to encourage a desire to interact with nature. Read Less
