Hanging Helmond
Hanging Helmond was an experiment to find out why there are no fonts that only partially makes use of serifs. Built out of a combination of Helvetica Bold and Garamond (Helvetica + Garamond = Helmond), features serifs only running along the top create an illusion that the characters are hanging from an invisible line. This illusion is strengthened by an uneven baseline and a x-height equal to the cap-line.
