Student project. An experimental book investigating the cultural significance of Los Angeles’ Griffith Park. The book utilizes an image-driven narrative to illustrate a journey beginning in downtown L.A. and winding up at the summit of Mt. Hollywood.

Factors contributing to and defining the nature of urban and natural environments ( e.g.: elevation, air quality, pace of life, congestion ) are explored and drawn into comparison through typography and self-authored Polaroid / Holgaroid imagery. L.A. County health statistics, motor vehicle traffic and commuter statistics, and a nineteenth-century essay on urban social structure all lend support to the photographic narrative.
