My pal Jake sculpted a small head of an orc while he was visiting once and it inspired me. The head wasn't very developed, but I wanted to see if I could take it somewhere. I started working on it and was having a blast while doing it. In only an hour or two the thumb-print size head was very well developed (and had transformed from an orc to a goblin), I loved it so much that I wanted to add it to my portfolio. I put it aside and started working on another sculpture. Adding sculpey here and there I unknowingly grabbed the whole face of my little goblin thinking he was a spare piece of sculpey. Needless to say the poor little goblin was no longer portfolio-level quality. Jake didn't mind the tragedy since he didn't intend to finish the little guy, but I was disappointed he wouldn't make it into the portfolio. I was still excited to work on the goblin head though and decided to remake the whole thing so that I could justly call it my own while also making it much larger for detail's sake. A project that again- only took me an hour or two went by quickly because I was so happy to work on it. fired and mounted on a small rod and paper birch trunk piece, the new head's finally made it to Behance.
