Getxophoto 2010 / System
Client description: GETXOPHOTO is a festival dedicated to photography that takes place in Getxo (Basque Country) and supports the exploration of formats, stands and unconventional exhibition spaces to show the different images.
Brief: The festival theme curated by Frank Kalero, in 2010 was “In Praise of Leisure”, and it is about this moment dedicated to self-realization. All the works shown represent leisure rituals in some of its numerous expressions: an occidental leisure based on welfare and for quiet and few, aimed to become its unique reason of being. The brief was to create the graphic image for the exhibition representing the leisure. It has to be clear, bold, and playful.
Approach and solution: The Getxophoto logo, as in years past, is the centerpiece of the poster design. This year, we cutted the logo on paper then folded it (like a paper doll chain) and illuminated it with colored lights to create an atmosphere of fun and partying. The sign system is based on the typography we created “Paper Chain Type”.
