I was asked to recreate a logo and website for a medium-sized company. I chose to do the Flying Fish Brewery because they've had a web presence very long, and I felt I could try something new using their iconic name with my creative twist. Read Less

Flying Fish Brewery
Redesign for local brewery located in NJ
This was a project for my Web Branding class during my 2 years at County College of Morris. I decided to do this company because I really liked the name, what they stood for, and microbreweries are awesome. I was inspired to take a more literally approach to the logo, with an actual flying fish. Their original logo is really cool, and has an awesome unique style, but I wanted to try and liven it up a little. The wave in the logo was influenced from the famous "The Great Wave Off Kanagawa" portrait.
Doodles I started working on, the blue ink was more recent, and the ones that I eventually ended up going with.
Working with the fish jumping out of "beer" I tried a bunch of variations, some, pretty bad, as you can see. This was a great learning experience, and I finally got to a point that I was happy with.
This is the final version of the logo.
The site went through numerous changes, but I am very pleased with the final outcome. The background was done by myself in Photoshop. I also placed "new" logo on their boxes, just to showcase how it would look. The sign was a classmate's idea and my professor really enjoyed it.
This is the subpage, showcasing their most popular beers.
This is one of the animated ads that we had to create. It loops 3 times, so if you just got to this part and it's not moving, try refreshing the page.
