ABOUT GRACE
Listen to me.
This is about GRACE.
You don’t choose.
Not really.
You get chosen.
Chosen, is what you get.
And what you get
is what you’ll pay for.
STRIKING A MATCH...
Striking a match, softly,
at eight a.m.
to light a rollie while the winter dawn
hits the shutters
and sets slow fire to another day.
THE WATCH
A candle and a bag of baccy.
Revolver’s on the dresser.
Hear the wind outside.
Let’s wait.

THE NAME OF THE GAME
Pain
is the name
of the game:
you stab my back,
I’ll stab yours.
MAN ON THE TRAIN
The coming and the going.
The waiting.
The shivering.
The laughing and the lying and the laying and the sweat.
The endless crap.
The sickness and the sweetness and the sap
of life, over and over and over again,
and then it’s curtains and you’re dead.
