Finding A Common Ground
Temporary Housing [Mission Hill, Boston, MA]
Community Design
The design for The Terrace is a temporary housing complex located in the Mission Hill area of Boston. The complex would serve different people ranging from visiting professors to those traveling to stay near the local hospitals for medical reasons. It is intended to accommodate residents whether they are staying for a short stay of only a few days to staying for a year. The ground floor is made up of an exhibition gallery and a cafe which encapsulate a sculpture garden. The gallery would house student work as well as local resident work year round, and become a place where the community and the students become activated.

The design focus around the interior sculpture garden, and breaks down the scale of this space so that the focus becomes around that space and the green terraces that focus around it.
