Fermata is a period of time of variable duration. Fermata transports us into a visual exploration of the sound, as
if it was one registration of a journey throught time.
The sound produced in space is easily caught and transformed into " Fermata"1 as if the sound was the catalizador of the action, which transports us in a space-time travel, functionning like a conducter of visual expression. This is based on the interpretation mechanism of the sound produced in a space, (which is caught by a sensor/microphone) with view to representing it visually assuming it as an interactive installation; quietting to be only a resonant environment to be simultaneously a visual one. This interface is built by the presence of the viewer being also mechanized by it. Making into this experience / project the viewer, simultaneously receiver, experimentalist and co-author of the process.
1- [The Fermata (it's a sign placed above or below a note or rest), which prolongs their duration longer than the set value, although the fermata not have a fixed value, varying according to the interpreter. We can also add to the fermata, the short and long terms.]

Fermata é um período de tempo de duração variável no qual nós estamos vivos, capazes de andar, pensar
e olhar, enquanto o resto do mundo NÃO para nem fica suspenso.
Fermata transporta-nos para uma exploração visual do som, como um registo, de uma “viagem no tempo” se tratasse. O som emitido no espaço é facilmente captado e transformado em “Fermata”1, como se o som fosse
o catalizador da acção, que nos transporta para uma viagem espaço-temporal, funcionando como um bom condutor de expressão visual. Esta baseia-se no mecanismo de interpretação do som emitido num espaço, com vista a representá-lo visualmente assumindo-se como uma instalação interactiva; deixando de ser apenas um ambiente sonoro para ser simultaneamente um ambiente visual.
Esta interface é construída pela presença do espectador sendo também mecanizada por este. Tornando nesta experiência/projecto o espectador, simultaneamente receptor, experimentador e co-autor do processo.
