An illustration done for an article on Latter-Day Saint politicians. The set of LDS scriptures (The Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, Pearl of Great Price and the Old and New Testament all in one convenient book) represents the LDS faith as opposed to just placing a hand on the Bible, as traditionally done. In terms of the article, I wanted to portray the unique position a member of the LDS Church has going into public office as seen from the constituents, other church members and their political cultures. The illustration makes two statements. First, taking the oath and making decisions based on their LDS faith, which in the article many state they do. Second asks a question of the politician. ARE you going to make decisions based on your faith? Representing the view that members have of some leader's positions that are questionable according to their interpretation.
