We were asked to do a solution both for the online version of the Exit Shop, and for the actual Exit Shop that would be set up on the Festival ground. For the online shop, we were asked to do a dynamic visual identity, and for the actual shop we had to do a 3D installation in space. The theme of the 2009 edition of Exit Festival is Recycling. This is why we came up with a logo that represents an adaptation of recycling logo done on a surface of recycled paper. Throughout the identity variations, the logo transforms in different patterns and shapes which are later accompanied with loads of different characters representing festival crowd and festival experience in general. So, the main motives in this identity were arrows, and recycling. We wanted to make an allusion both to the name of the festival (Exit), by using the symbol of the arrow (i.e. “exit” arrow), and to this year’s theme of the Festival- Recycling, by using the recycling sign, and by producing everything on recycled materials (for the online solution, we did the graphics on the background that recalls recycled paper). We also designed the interior for the EXIT Shop where the identity evolves into a 3D installation-in-actual-space made out of recycled materials. Exit/recycling arrows are once again the main motive here. In the Exit Shop we united all of the main identity elements: the party motives, the arrows, the recycling. We wanted to keep the whole structure light, which is why we used a glass structure. Above the glass ceiling, we created big recycling/exit arrows made out of recycled materials. Here we wanted to recall the cycles of nature and life cycles. As for the Exit T-Shirts we did 2 characteristic scenes from Exit Festival: - In the first one we wanted to express the Festival experience: in the arrows above the jumping crowd you can see the details from the concerts. - On the second T-shirt you can see a bit calmer atmosphere, with a motive of singletents. As on the first t-shirt, inside the arrows we placed details, this time recalling the EXIT camp atmosphere. We also did one of the posters for this event, in which we decided to focus on the exciting festival atmosphere rather than on the festival’s line up. Our aim was to make a poster that Exit Festival visitors will gladly put on their bedroom wall as a reminder of a great time they spent on festival, which is why we decided to make this motive that would not “expire” and look outdated right after the festival.
