Excrutiating Forgiveness
A font about pain
Self-inflicted pain, or scourge, has been a tradition in different religions around the world in order for someone to get forgiveness of the gods through physical sacrifice. This voluntary sacrifice is a representation of one’s repentance and the need of being closer to god.
This typography talks about a painful way of forgiveness, about a very intense physical agony that contrasts with the ecstasy produced by the idea of someone proving itself to a god through the most extreme of sacrifices. This font is a metaphor of the profound skin marks that a mind possessed by the desire of salvation can leave behind.

ABOUT THE PROCESS / ACERCA DEL PROCESO
Each character was obtained from an individual piece of fresh pig skin. The process made the concept even stronger, for humans have a very similar skin and the harmful effect could be appreciated.
