EvilEye Begone
عين الحسود فيها عود
This project is a tribute to a very widely extended belief in the Middle East: the Evil Eye, "ain al hasud", or "mal de ojo."

The concept also refers to the power attributed to certain persons who inflict injury or bad luck by an envious or ill-wishing look. So as a precaution, many cultures pursued protective measures against it, hence wearing an actual evil eye protector, or the palm of Fatima deflected those ill-wishes and negative energy away from the bearer.

All 3 illustrations are hand sketched, painted and touched up with markers, then framed.
