“Zanjon de Granados” is thought to be the site of the first settlement of Buenos Aires. After 20 years of
detailed obsession, this historic monument was restored. To chronicle the building’s rich past, we developed an identity that reflected its many historical layers and that honoured the finds unearthed during the process.
Referencing contemporary and archeological images, we built a visual vocabulary that incorporated
pattern designs inspired by tiles from the 1860’s, old city maps, original illustrations and photos of the building at various stages of development.
