Deborah Coolidge's egg tool project:
This was a tool I made in my first semester Spatial Dynamics class. The assignment was to make a (mostly) wooden tool that could pick up, crack, and whisk an egg. The catch was that you could not touch the egg at any point in the process.
My egg tool used a detachable cage in order to pick up the egg. It was attached with a pin, which both connected it to the handle and held the cage shut. To use, I pulled out the pin, picked up the egg with the cage, then replaced the cage, egg inside. Breaking the egg was simple; I just hit the cage against the bowl. The egg then dribbled out through the wires and into the bowl, where I whisked it.
