EcoPack - Chocolates
La Boqueria Market - ELISAVA 2011
Nowadays in La Boqueria Market in Barcelona, the loose chocolate sales are weighed andpackaged according to the customers choice. This causes problems withtransporting the chocolate and damages the appearance of the chocolate.
The packaging was designed tobe adaptable to different volumes, offering customers the ability to pack from100g to 200g of chocolates in one pack, protecting the chocolate and keeping itin the best conditions.
The package has been designed with recycled cardboard and natural beeswax, from residue of the honey extraction and water-based inks, which allows easy retrieval of material. The actual packaging features the types of material used to produce the packaging and instructions on how to properly recycle the packaging.
The logo design was inspired by the stained glass windows at the main entrance of"La Boqueria Market", an iconic spot in the city of Barcelona. The bright colours make reference to the plethora of market stalls and people whichmake the market so exciting when you visit.
