"Your girlfriend is a fat, dumpy bitch. I bet she has low self-esteem because of her fat cellulite ass and thighs. I can also tell that she has droopy tits and big pepperoni nipples that point towards the ground."
Above is an excerpt from my book, "Dumpy Bitch: Looking at the Sun". Comprised mostly of visuals, "Dumpy Bitch" can be described as aesthetically flippant, conceptually confrontational, and as possessing a unique brand of pungent, mischievous humor. The eclectic group of images is at once harsh and graceful, oscillating between coy minimalism and furious, retina-melting complexity.
Examining the Sun as a metaphor for truth supplies "Dumpy Bitch" with conceptual cohesion. Looking at the sun is a potentially dangerous activity, just as looking at "truth" can threaten our peace of mind. There are some facets of truth that must be ignored or shoved aside if one hopes to maintain their sanity. Ignored or not, these disconcerting components of truth persist. "Dumpy Bitch" is a manifestation of such shunned truths. It's meant to serve as a glaring reminder of our existential vulnerability.
I believe that "Dumpy Bitch" is the culmination of my technical/conceptual growth thus far. The work has received unanimous praise from those who have viewed it.
I hope to have "Dumpy Bitch" published. If you are interested in viewing material from the work I can send it immediately. Any assistance, advice, or feedback you can offer would be greatly appreciated.
