Located on Puerto Rico’s coastline, Dorado Beach blends its natural setting and 50-year heritage into a unique 1,400 acre luxurious and sustainable Caribbean resort destination. Once a plantation estate, Dorado Beach is a private retreat inspired by the legacy of its original developer, conservationist Laurance S. Rockefeller. The current developers, Caribbean Property Group (CPG) and PRISA Group, asked Bruce Mau Design to work on the brand positioning & marketing strategy for launch of the newly conceptualized Ritz-Carlton Reserve Residences.
BMD worked with the Dorado Beach sales team and investors to ideate, strategize and brand these exclusive new properties. This was a unique opportunity to reinvigorate Laurance Rockefeller’s legendary Dorado Beach Resort. Driven by the idea that luxury involves time with the people you love, BMD developed a brand that focused on spending ‘life time’, by building a community in an eco-conscious, thoughtful and luxurious resort. For the branding/identity our goal was to create a unique graphic and pattern inspired by the natural beauty of the place, that also feels luxurious and reflective of Dorado Beach's history. Applying this new brand strategy and identity we designed several pieces of marketing material including product brochures, an App available on iTunes and exclusive iPad case for property owners, stationary package, sales video, and commemorative coffee table book. Also, to help tell the story of this historic place we created a new website, signage and wayfinding system, and Master site map, all to allow residents, visitors, and potential buyers to experience Dorado Beach’s authenticity and beauty.
