Symbol and core identity proposal for District Doughnuts, a small and delicious business from Washington DC. Their doughnuts are “beautiful creations”, as the client described them. They have the perfect taste, but the shapes are sometimes imperfect because each doughnut is hand-crafted. I wanted to evoke this into the identity and design a logotype that is familiar, friendly and will appropriately express the philosophy of the business. I chose to develop a custom-drawn font with cursive letters inspired by the doughnuts curves. The result: a stylish and timeless type, but still modern and fresh. The color palette contributes to the general feeling of the logo. The warm blue and orange are very friendly and it’s a nod to the actual District Doughnuts identity. Read Less
