As the saying goes, "The best camera is the one you have with you." More and more lately, that's been my iPhone. Its camera is a piece of crap, but it has a unique "toy camera" look that has inspired "iPhoneographers" all around the world. Even better, a vast multitude of apps turns the iPhone's toy camera into a vintage photo lab. My favorite for a while now has been "ShakeIt Photo," an app that converts iPhone photos into digital Polaroids. It's a gimmick, yes, but the way it processes tones and color is strangely wonderful, and the nature of the Polaroid is perfectly analogous to the way we use camera phones in the 21st century.
