Ensuring the transfer of the design intent onto the drawing is critical. It is just as important that the fabrication details include all of the dimensional information, bills of material, fabrication notes and other specifications necessary to build the product as it was designed. I have always balanced the necessities of time-sensitive projects with a detail-oriented approach toward drawing creation and checking.

Just as important as my own production is the production of my design group. Although I can't do a detailed check of every drawing produced from our group, I have established various quality assurance workflows to ensure that designs and details are checked by other members of the group.
