In the summer of 2006, the hotly contested Presidential race in Mexico brought hundreds of thousands of protesters from all over Latin America to Mexico City.  At the same time, the annual teachers strike in Oaxaca City doubled in both size and intensity as protesters sought to align the two causes.  As I traveled through Mexico that summer, I was overwhelmed and profoundly inspired by the displays of political initiative that I saw all around me.

These images were shot with a Polaroid SX-70 camera.  The Polaroids were then scanned and enlarged to 11x14" for display.
