THE COMPANY : Dauphine-Lamarck speciality is 60s 70s and 80s Honda motocycle ; aiming the accessibility for everyone i customizing small capacity Honda's in the suburbs of Paris... The Philosophy of DL is the passion for the history of objects , their past. What can we do with old thing. Honda manufacture have a lot of best selling two-wheeler under 126cc, beautiful history, that few people accept as it is, in spite of its influence in the modern society. The idea is to make these two worlds relate, to make discover this story those people who might not be sensible to it. We realize the majority of works on our own, far from industrialized productions. It's the risk to be obliged to restart everything if the work is not satisfactory. In fact, I think that the motorcycles we create correspond more to way of life than to some specific type. THE BIKE : What is more commun in Asia or Africa than a CG125 Honda, produced by millions ? The main idea of my project was reliability ! The objective was to use this bike everyday in Paris, and not to get arrested at every traffic light, for a too large "caferacerisation". Despite an unprepossessing appearance, this commercial bike is well-builded, a real Honda ! This one in particular, is a basic 1998 version, at the end of it's rope, delivered with bags, topcase, roadbook, etc... we needed to keep only the essence of it. The advantage here is the motor voltage, no more archaic 6 volts, all the electric pieces were replaced by Takegawa accessories, speedometer, lenses, CDI, etc... We needed to re-create a basic, a mean of transport working in all weather, with well-managed shape, volume. The tank comes from a 1975 CG, totally timeless, associated to a CB50 seat, ducktail style. It's almost looks like a famous CB350 Scrambler, miniature-version ! The tank's blend of hues is a blink of an eye to it. The engine received a black varnished treatment with polished pieces. Enven if the CG is able to go ahead at the red light, a large carburateror metering and a exhaust manifold, with the 750 Four typical noise, were plugged in the little 125. Read Less
