A series of propaganda based on 1960s-1980s Cuban poster art.
I designed a series of Cuban Propaganda Posters as part of a class project for my Spanish Major. I heavily researched Cuban poster art during the 1960s-1980s and then designed the following posters in an attempt to capture the feel of the visual style of the time period. For subject matter, I focused on three major achievements by Fidel Castro in Cuba that benefited the people who live there.
This poster focuses on the Literacy Campaign in Cuba. The text reads "Support Literacy, Support Your Country!"
This poster focuses on Education Reform in Cuba. The text reads "If You Know, Teach! If You Do Not Know, Learn!" This was a common slogan of the time period amongst those most active in the reformation movement.
This poster focuses on the Nationalization of Cuban Resources that were, at the time, owned by foreign powers.
