Design and Construction Communication for Low English Populations or Elementary School
Activity sheets like the one below were created for each station area along the alignment of the newly designed light rail project. Low English speaking areas used these activity sheets in ESL program instruction for vocabulary and teaching students how to read maps. In areas where there were schools, after school programs, or religious organizations with youth programs, these activity sheets were used for coloring and the activity on the back which included mazes, crossword puzzles, and word finds that corresponded to their neighborhood and light rail. Information was spread to the families of the children when the sheets were brought home and shared with the families or posted as art work on refrigerators.
The station area graphic for coloring was created using CAD drawing, 3ds MAX, and Illustrator. People were created using Illustrator.
