This was a design/build project for a series of 5 pop-up retail spaces for the Jazzin' on Jefferson Festival in the Jefferson-Chalmers neighborhood on the far east side of Detroit, Michigan. This specific project was to design an outdoor surround for Coffee and (____) space. The tenant is a pastry chef who serves coffee and other beverages that compliment her pastries. The materials used for the fence to surround the outdoor seating area include reclaimed plywood from architectural desks that were being scrapped, steel tubing and aluminum brackets, also from the same desks. Vines and wheat grass were planted in the boxes too provide vegetation for the month long stint. *The fence and execution of the fence was done solely on my own , while I assisted on the interior design and build out. Assembly of planter box
All materials were salvaged from architecture desks that were being scrapped. The materials included 3/4" plywood, steel tubing, and aluminum brackets.
The surround included a chalkboard sign allowing the owner to advertise her daily offering. Today was Key Lime Pie
