Taking the ‘Indian circus’ as the theme for this project a number of illustrated repeat pattern blocks have been created to make patterns. Familiar objects like tents, the moon, patterns and movements of the circus artistes have been used as inspiration along with intricate line work to create delicate repeat blocks that have a sense of rhythm and flow in them. Chevron patterns, colour fills are also used in these artworks. A series of letters has been created including the King, Jack, Queen and Ace, bringing a bit of a carnival feel to the collection.

All these artworks are hand illustrated and then scanned and digitally modified and repeated. These repeat blocks have been screen printed in single colour, two, three as well as in four colour repeats on cotton as
well as silk. These screen prints are colour and material explorations done for a final collection of circus capes. The patterns and lines created by the repeats are intended to make the eyes of the viewer travel all over the garment and have a certain kaleidoscopic effect.
