Ciao Nonna
Ciao Nonna is a collection of images based around my Grandma’s house. The series came at a time where my life as well as hers was changing. After the passing of my grandfather it became clear that the house was now out growing my Grandmother. So in this time of change I chose to document the house as a way of saying good bye to what had been a symbol of family for so long.
My Granddad and Grandmother moved from Italy in 1984 and had lived in England for 28 years. After all these years she now going back home to Italy. The work is a documentation of their life over here and how their home has come to pass. The work for me is not only a collection of the objects that I will remember from my childhood but as a portrait of my grandparents.
