I started by light proofing my garage by boarding up the windows, sealing the doors and laying black cloth around the room. I then set the shutter speed of my camera to a very slow exposure.
I then instructed the young child models to shine a torch directly on their faces whilst walking around the room very slowly and to pause at timed intervals and shine the light across their entire heads.
The results of this was that we ended up with images of faces (due to the models standing still and shining more light on their faces) as well as ghostly face-like trails (due to them walking around with the torches) that seem to smudge across the compositions shown below.
