In 2010, an earthquake struck the coast of Haiti, the poorest country in the world, which left the country in shambles. The country already had a large orphan population, but the because of the poor infastructure and close living quarters, the amount of orphans in Haiti exploded to nearly 900,000 in the days following the earthquake. Chances for Children is one organization that is trying to make a difference in the village of Kenskoff, by providing resources and education to some of these children, while also managing mission trips to the village to aid in relief effort. They are based in Phoenix, Arizona, and provide water as well as job training to the women of the village. Read Less
