Branding/Redesign and Labeling of the famous portuguese vinho verde Casal Garcia.

     Casal Garcia is the most sold vinho verde in the world. It has been celebrating joy and cheer for over 70 years, becoming a true flagship of the Portuguese happy way of life.

     The idea was to create a new brand and labeling that combines the traditional brand attributes of youth and emotion on the one hand and shows a very close connection to the spirit of nature on the other.

     So I decided to work with the form of a fern. It is a traditional symbol of renewal and regeneration and shows the process of a grape to a wine in a metaphorical way. It is also an international known symbol for youth in many cultures and countrys. I decided to create the figurative mark in a handdrawn way, that is connected to the manual work of wine processing.

     The colours are related to earth and water, what  remind us to a warm day at the beach, illuminated in a soft light with low saturated colours. There is a connection to the beautiful countryside of Portugal, where the grapes grow. The beach is also an area, which shows the process of reformation obviously,
