Canopy is a customisable light feature. Inspired by the dynamic quality of Alexander Calder's mobiles, Canopy consists of multiple free hanging petals that flex and move with air currents. PVC petals attached to sprung steel wire protrude from a light box creating a dappled light effect. The main objective of Canopy is to provide an unconventional lighting display to bring an artistic quality into a home or cafe environment. It is also a comment on how removed we are from nature as city-dwellers, that we invite artificial replications into our homes. Canopy was created an designed through Grasshopper software which enables aspects of the design to be modified and customised by the consumer. There are 10 set sizes of the PVC ellipses which have been water-jet-cut into shape and 10 set wire lengths. The colour and area covered is also able to to be modified. Read Less
