Free Phlyers is a creative writing competition, hosted by Mini Cooper. This campaign encourages creative minds to escape the torturous state of creative block, by prompting incomplete catch phrases, which the inquiring mind then needs to complete. Each applicant, upon entry, is presented with the words:
“Shutting his eye, Revo rise’s...”
Their task is to form an entire short-story based on these few words, and show to the judges what it truelly means to them when Revo has risen.
The background takes the form of a standard A4 examination accompanied by odd scraps of paper forming a collage of freeform writing. Accompanying each promotional piece are characterised robots with only destruction and hindrance on their minds. Intentionally illustrated in the style of doodles and scamps, each robotic character represents a facet of the negative influences distracting writers from a voyage of creative enterprise. Thus these robotic characters retard not only our creative flair, but also hinder the reach of our cultural influence.
