To launch the packaging and introduce the 'everyone is different' concept we worked with Burnt Sugar to create a live illustration event at Borough market, encompassing branding, signage, event graphics and installations. The idea was to invite budding illustrators and the general public to indulge in an uncapped scribbly celebration of individuality. Firstly, we had to make sure people turned up, so we created a mailer that consisted of a limited edition postcard to explain the details, a blank bag to doodle on and a pen to doodle with, then wrapped them up in a brightly coloured envelope. All beautifully illustrated by Gemma Correll, who not only illustrated the lumpy bumpy fudge pack from the main range but also joined Jess Wilson (chocolate fudge) on the day to create the Drawing Room, which gradually took shape as punters (and the odd primary school group!) strolled through the market. Nothing was safe from being scribbled on - bags, t-shirts, mugs, plates, and even body parts at one point! The two illustrators were also challenged to a 'quick draw', where they had 60 seconds to both illustrate a random word that was picked out of a hat - to perfectly random results. The Burnt Sugar illustrative photo booth also attracted a crowd of eager participants who queued up to have their faces 'painted' by the super-talented Jess and Gemma. The competition was run over Facebook, which gave even more opportunities for people to join in and share the fun after the live event had ended. Read Less
