I blogged for Caliber Magazine and created a weekly feature called "The Berkeley Calendar." I was responsible for picking out noteworthy events each week to share with Caliber readers. To maintain consistency across posts, I formalized the layout of "The Berkeley Calendar." I also wrote other articles featuring events on campus that I attended. Read Less

As a blogger for Caliber Magazine, I developed “The Berkeley Calendar,” a recurring weekly feature that gives brief descriptions of various events happening around the Berkeley campus.  I came up with this idea because I realized that there are often many interesting guest speakers on campus, ranging from an editor from The New York Times to the first female astronaut Sally Ride, that students often overlook because they do not know about the events. These guest lectures are enlightening and allow people to gain a deeper understanding of a certain topic.  Having these guest speakers on campus are a great feature and asset of the Berkeley campus, and I wanted more students to be aware of them.  Each week, I culled department websites and the Berkeley’s Events Calendar for events of potential interest from various fields and post them to the site.
