During my tenure at BU Free Press, we saw readership and public image significantly decrease. While there were several reasons for this, the only ones that mattered were the ones we could change ourselves. The past few years saw a shift in the way we marketed ourselves and how we viewed ourselves. We decided to back to the basics and why this newspaper was formed - to present news and opinions without bias or editing of content (everything accepted under free speech laws, which was basically everything except for hate content or unsupported libel).
I worked with my editors to redesign ourselves to appeal on an aesthetic level without compromising ourselves as a publication.
