Backwater Resolution is an exhibition of paintings and digital stills by Alex Fischer. The entire body of work is articulated around the relationship between contemporary art and urban-identity situations. Fischer’s images draw on numerous visual and conceptual references to achieve an accumulative perspective on the benefits of digitally developed and expanded paintings. Connections between the media are established to banish the differences between them. Fischer confronts these two modes of image production through similar aesthetics in order to open a field of perception located at the border of each medium. Read Less
