Artists village in Ghana, Ashanti region. Architectural competition-2011
Published:
Our approach was to create a fabric out of the available local resources. A Fabric which tends to act differently from each side, in other words "An artist’s atelier that extends to form the whole fabric of the arts village"
Challenge

Our challenge was to prove how beautiful the local materials could really look like if we put them in an appropriate setting in 2011 not to mention sustainablity and ecological factors.
Inner Shell Structure:

Outer shell-Intermediate space-working space-communication zone

The proposal, materials and construction techniques are all local and could be handled by local craftsmen in Ghana, which will result in minimal expenses. However we are not familiar with material and construction expenses in Ghana.
