Shown here is the creative concept and design work I created after being commissioned by The Camping and Caravanning Club to promote their new smartphone app. Whilst scribbling and reading through the brief I had the strap line 'Appy Campers' pop in to my mind which is based on the old British saying 'Happy Campers" meaning – everything is good. It felt right for the brand and was short and sharp but friendly, especially as was being aimed at the established member audience firstly. The concept and creative has been used in many ways by the organisation, from press advertisements on websites and online banner ads etc through to large posters and within editorial. I also worked on a unique hand-out which was the size of a smartphone with the app graphics to front and information inside finished with a gloss lamination for effect. SInce completing the project some of the graphics and strap-line I created featured in The Sun newspaper (which has the tenth largest circulation of any newspaper in the world) and The Sun online. The Sun voted the app itself as 'Travel | App of the week' in January 2013 which was great news for the CCC Digital Team and developers behind it, also reaching No.05 in it's download category on the app store in the first week of release.
