This project is near and dear to my heart, because much of what is captured in these images is gone now. These photos all were shot with a SX-70 Polaroid camera (see the At the Beach project to find out more about the camera, film, and process used). I loved creating the Polaroid images because it gave me the ability to add so much of myself to the picture. Having to examine every square inch of the photo with close up glasses and move the emulsion around was the ultimate in creativity for me. I am a little sad that the film is not available anymore. I guess the universe was telling me it was time to move on—and I have. The nice part is we have hundreds of these images to admire for a long time to come.
