This year All About Dance celebrated christmas with a tribute to one of the most fantastic and famous Lewis Carrol's books, "Alice in Wonderland". Needless to say, this was a big responsability for us, designing for a theme with such a rich visual imaginary, but, from the first moment, we had the idea of producing visuals with the same richness and graphic detail of the ones we find on beautifully designed playing cards. Luckily All About Dance's red and black color palette married perfectly with this approach. From this starting point we created several geometric shapes related to the "cards" theme and combined them with thin organic lines to create patterns and ultimately some of the main characters of Alice in Wonderland: Alice, the cat, the rabbit, the red queen, the hare and the hatter and Tweedledum and Tweedledee. To display the title we used Maximiliano Sproviero's "erotica capitals" wich played very well with the graphics. The line we used in the illustrations is exactly the same width as the letters. We designed the poster, flyers, invitations, pins, programs, t-shirts, packaging and even a small stand made up of two Ikea tables to sell the t-shirts on the day of the event. Overall we were very glad with the outcome of all this, we believe the visuals have a delicate and obscure feel at the same time that relates very well to the story. Read Less
