I have always been inspired by moths, they're such weird night creatures with the most intriguing patterns on their wings. Butterflies are sweet and flirty, but moths just seem so mysterious as creatures of the night.

This painting represents death and the end of all things. The moths brings the beautiful woman news of a death and she sheds a single bloody tear. Despite the sombre news, the painting is opulent and grand with gold and jewels.. signifying that there is beauty too in the sorrow of losing a loved one.
