The name Kalindi comes from her "earthly" source, the mountain Kalinda. Some legends also explain Yamuna's darkness and thus her name Kalindi. Only a dark mysterious personality could have known deep secrets of Kalindi. She surrenders to total love and not to Krishna. The love as pure as a child.
