101 things to see in 7107 islands

The Philippines is an archipelago comprising 7100+ islands with a total land area of approximately 300,000 square kilometers. The island of Borneo is located a few hundred kilometers southwest and Taiwan is located directly to the north.
The Philippines’ rainforests and its extensive coastlines make it home to a diverse range of birds, plants, animals, and sea creatures. It is one of the ten most biologically megadiverse countries with native animals like the palm civet cat, the dugong, and the Philippine tarsier (Dutch: Spookdiertje). Another majestic animal which can be found in the Philippines is the whaleshark, the largest extant fish species in the world.
Featured in this selection of photos are the following islands; Luzon, Cebu, Bohol, Palawan and Coron.
