The Campaign - Raising Awareness Through Our Parkinson's Disease Animation
We were asked by charity Parkinson’s UK to create an animated advert as part of their Me, My Brain & I campaign, to be displayed during a 10 minute window on the Piccadilly Circus screen advertisements in London.
A unique project with detailed specifications and a quick turnaround, we decided to use particle animation as a means of visualising the disease’s impact on the brain. This was a unique task demanding a sensitive yet explanatory approach, without being too direct. Our Parkinson’s UK advert had to encompass elements of live action as a storytelling element, combined with the metaphoric depictions of our 3D particle animation sequence and the artwork on sale at the accompanying auction. Not only that but the famous screen at Piccadilly Circus boasts 783.5m2 of OOH advertising space, creating the need for ultra high-res imagery in very specific dimensions – 5,490 x 2,160 pixels. This had to be taken into account from the very first sketches to the finalised footage. Check out how it looked on the big screen below.
