My jacquard explored the idea of a mesh like grid structure resembling a window viewed up close. Some areas enable the viewer to look at the movement behind the grid while some areas are blocked, hence limiting access to what may lie beyond. I translated this painting into a jacquard fabric. The shift in colors behind the grid are evocative of a change of time, light or temperature. The grid itself seems to move into the distance till it almost dissolves into the background. I used wool to create the grid to give it a dry texture. Using the wool added dimension to the grid and made it sit on top of the fabric. The background was woven with metallic yarn that livens up with light hitting it.
