My version of the Persian Kurdish legend of the wise Shahmaran the queen of serpents, which according to some articles about this creature refers that the two snakes, the symbol of pharmacy and medicine came from that legend. Shahmaran is a wonderful creature with a human head and a snake body. Although the paintings of snakes are often a sign of evil and bad luck, but in this legend of Shahmaran the serpent with the human head is a symbol of serenity, blessing and wisdom of man.
